We are a small family company created in 2016 which brings lots of original wooden products into your homes under the brand of WOODENHORSE. Our products are made by hand, every one is original and took hours of time to be finalized into its final form. A few years ago we decided to leave the hustle and bustle of a regional capital and moved from a flat into an old village home in the countryside. Gradually, we got used to a place without neighbors, in the heart of nature and without options which the city offers we found that in nature we can gather back lost energy and that gives us enough energy for our activities. One of them is creating original household decorations based on various types of wood.
A part of our creations comes from river drift wood, which had undergone a certain degree of transformation which reflected by a change in its attributes such as shape, color and weight. Water alone is the main artist which made our creations. All we are here to do is to complete this work of art and offer it to you in various forms, whether it be a frame for your favorite photographs, paintings or mirrors of varying sizes and shape, lamps, lanterns and paintings and several other household decorations. We preserve the origianl color shades of the wood made by nature. This results in unique and inimitable household decorations, which brighten up every home and give it a hint of rarity. Every piece is original, handmade into its final form. Our drift wood comes from different parts of Slovakia, from the rivers Ipeľ, Hron, Váh, Danube and many other tiny rivers, streams, named or nameless.
When we first moved into an old settler settlement, we could not appreciate the amount of wood which was already there. Only over time could we start seeing it as a source of artistic and original creations. Whether it were the cloths from the old fence at the edge of the garden or a forgotten piece of wood in the old shed, all of it became a source of inspiration and we realized everything was worthy of becoming a work of art. Wood, which is decades old, remembers our and your grandparents and great grandparents. Products made from it, even though made only now bear the scars of history.
Many relive memories of childhood, of a garden surrounded with a picket fence, which even back then had been overgrown by mosses and lichens, of many times unnamed types of wood, out of which every one fullfilled its purpose and now became purposeless.
All of this is a source for our creations, which we are offering to you.
The surrounding forests are also an endless supply of natural materials, which thanks to slight alterations creates unqiue works of art. Nature itself took care of its appearance, color and structure. With such a creation, even your home can flourish with a piece of nature and be original at the same time. Just as there are no two people with the same set of fingerprints, so is no piece of nature the same.
Everything is original.
And why WOODENHORSE? Because wood is a rare resource, renewable with lots and lots of different color and shape variations. And a horse is a proud, beautiful animal, symbolizing strength, freedom and endurance.
